About the Saint-Josse baths swimming pool
The municipal swimming pool of Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, also known as the Saint-François pool, is an Art Deco gem dating back to 1933 and classified by Monuments & Sites.
Located just a few minutes’ walk from Place Rogier and Botanique, this 25-meter pool, featuring six lanes and period changing cabins, provides a historic and authentic setting in the heart of Brussels’ North district. After several years of renovation, the pool reopened in 2019 with modernised facilities meeting current safety and accessibility standards.
Swimmers can enjoy water maintained at 28°C in an iconic environment that combines heritage and modernity. Open seven days a week, this pool is ideal for swimming enthusiasts and architecture lovers. During school sessions, lessons and association activities, at least two swimming lanes remain available to the public. The renovation included a modern drowning-detection system and improved accessibility for people with reduced mobility, with a lift and a mobile device providing access to the pool.

- Accès public : Sortie de l’eau 30 min avant la fin.
- Durée maximale d’une entrée : deux heures, comptées à partir de l’entrée dans l’eau.
- Accès pour les personnes à mobilité réduite : ascenseur ; une fois changé dans les vestiaires, dispositif mobile spécifique pour rejoindre le bassin (appareil PMR sur place).
- Une deuxième entrée donne accès aux bassins par un ascenseur. Un local PMR dispose de toilettes adaptées, d’un lavabo et de matériel. L’accompagnement est pris en charge par les maîtres-nageurs.
- Un bassin de 25 m sur 12 m (6 couloirs), profondeur de 0,75 m à 3,15 m. Pas de pataugeoire ni de petit bassin.
- Cafétéria actuellement fermée.
- Des bonnets peuvent être prêtés contre une pièce d’identité ou une garantie, par exemple des clés ou une carte.
- Fermeture de la caisse 45 minutes avant la fermeture de la piscine.
- Au moins deux couloirs restent accessibles au public pendant les écoles, les cours et les activités associatives.

The regulations define a Saint-Josse club as a club whose registered office is in Saint-Josse-ten-Noode and at least 60% of whose members live in the municipality, or which has run its activities there for at least 5 years. A private company is treated as a club from outside Saint-Josse. Lane hire is granted exceptionally, depending on how busy the pool is. Hire requires authorisation from the College of Mayor and Aldermen and is paid before the hire period starts.

Every Sunday morning between 10h and 12h, the swimming pool at the Saint-Josse baths is rented out by the ASBL Objectif Bien-être. This association offers aquagym and swimming classes, as well as free swimming periods reserved for women.

- Obligatoire : bonnet de bain et pièce d’identité à présenter à la caisse (enfants entre 12 et 16 ans).
- Accompagnement des enfants : obligatoire ; enfants de moins de 12 ans, accompagnés d’un adulte. L’adulte doit être apte à exercer une surveillance permanente sur le ou les enfants dont il a la charge. Pour les enfants de moins de 6 ans, l’adulte doit être dans l’eau avec l’enfant.
- Brassards : obligatoire. Pour les enfants ne sachant pas nager, en dehors des cours d’apprentissage.
- Document d’identité ou attestation parentale en cas de doute sur l’âge d’un enfant non accompagné : obligatoire. À défaut, l’accès au bassin peut être refusé.
- Palmes : autorisé ; palmes courtes uniquement. En fonction du nombre d’usagers.
- Planche : autorisé. En fonction du nombre d’usagers.

- Autorisé : nager sans accompagnateur à partir de 12 ans.
