Presentation of Ixelles swimming pool
The Ixelles municipal swimming pool, a true gem of Brussels’ heritage, reopened in December 2024 after a long renovation period that began in September 2019. Built in 1904 and classified as a heritage site since 2007, it is the oldest swimming pool in the Brussels Region and one of the first in Europe constructed with reinforced concrete.
The renovation project restored its historic charm while modernizing its facilities to provide optimal comfort for swimmers and enhance accessibility. With its 30-meter pool and upgraded infrastructure, the Ixelles swimming pool now combines architectural heritage with contemporary amenities.
Managed by the municipality of Ixelles, this iconic pool, which celebrated its centenary on May 16, 2004, remains a landmark of architectural heritage in the Brussels-Capital Region.

Last ticket sale and water exit
The last entry is allowed 45 minutes before closing time to ensure a comfortable and quality swimming experience. Swimmers must exit the pool when the sound signal is given, 15 minutes before closing.
Pool access is limited to 1 hour 30 minutes from the time of entering the changing room.
Note: Opening hours are subject to change by the College of Mayor and Aldermen without prior notice or compensation, especially during authorized events or exceptional circumstances.
