About the Victor Boin swimming pool in Saint-Gilles
The Victor Boin municipal swimming pool, located in Saint-Gilles, is a true gem of Brussels’ architectural heritage. Opened in 1905 and remodeled in the Art Deco style between 1938 and 1940, it is one of the last remaining examples of public baths from the interwar period. Featuring a 33-meter pool surrounded by individual changing cabins, the pool hosts various swimming and aquagym classes.
Closed for major renovation works since July 2023, it is scheduled to reopen in early 2026. The renovations aim to enhance safety, improve the pool’s waterproofing, and modernise the facilities while preserving its historic character.
