A new private pool will open in Woluwe in 2026

Good news for sports and wellness enthusiasts in Brussels: the former Caméléon store site in Woluwe-Saint-Lambert will soon be transformed into a major sports center, including two swimming pools!

The project, led by the GVO group (owner of the Stadium fitness clubs), aims to revitalize this iconic building visible from the E40, without altering its external structure. The first phase, dedicated to fitness and wellness activities, is expected to open by the end of 2026.

A new center dedicated to sport and wellness

The future sports complex will include:

  • State-of-the-art fitness rooms,
  • Over 150 hours of group classes per week,
  • Boxing, cross-training, and yoga areas,
  • A lounge and coworking area,
  • Preservation of an existing nursery and HoReCa facilities.

The transformation of the 14,000 m² site will optimize both indoor and outdoor spaces while preserving the building’s original architecture.

Two swimming pools planned for 2027

After the opening of the fitness center, a second phase will see the installation of:

  • Two indoor swimming pools,
  • Wellness areas including saunas and hammams.

Work on the pools is expected to begin after obtaining urban planning permits, scheduled for 2026.

Eventually, the site will be divided into:

  • An aquatic area of about 2,000 m²,
  • A fitness area of 6,000 m²,
  • And a reception area of 2,000 m².

A third phase could potentially add outdoor padel courts.

A project supported by the municipality

The municipality of Woluwe-Saint-Lambert is very supportive of this redevelopment. “The neighborhood has evolved with many new residential developments but lacked sports facilities. This project meets a real need,” emphasizes Delphine de Valkeneer, alderwoman for urban planning.

The total investment is estimated at around 30 million euros.

A new sports hub in Brussels

With this project, Woluwe-Saint-Lambert is set to host one of the largest private sports complexes in the capital, providing a new solution for swimming, fitness, and relaxation enthusiasts.

First opening expected: End of 2026.
Swimming pools opening expected: During 2027 (subject to permits).
