Victor Boin Swimming Pool: reopening postponed, unlikely before 2027

Closed since July 2023 for major renovation works, the Victor Boin swimming pool, located in Saint-Gilles, was initially expected to reopen in early 2026. This timeline, which had been widely shared, raised strong expectations among local residents and regular swimmers.

Following numerous enquiries received via swim.brussels, the Sports Department of the Municipality of Saint-Gilles has recently provided an official update, adopting a much more cautious position.

Works taking longer and proving more complex than expected

According to the municipality, the renovation works have unfortunately taken longer than initially planned.
At this stage, it is not possible to confirm any reopening date in 2026.
The municipality indicates that it hopes for a reopening in 2027, but stresses that there is currently no certainty.

Unfortunately, the swimming pool remains closed for a long period.
The works have taken longer than expected.
We hope to be able to reopen in 2027, but at this stage we cannot provide any certainty.
We invite the public to regularly consult our website, our Facebook page, and other communication channels, as an official update will be published during the course of 2026.
