Poseidon Swimming Pool: Renovation Timeline Extended
The closure of the Poseidon swimming pool, originally announced for a six-month period starting in January 2026, could ultimately last longer than expected.
According to the latest information provided to swim.brussels by the management of the complex, the scope of the project has been expanded beyond the original plans. In addition to the energy-efficiency upgrades and the modernization of the pool facilities, the municipality has decided to take advantage of the closure to renovate several other areas of the site.
The additional works now planned include the refurbishment of the changing rooms, poolside areas, reception hall, and several sports facilities within the complex.
However, the January 2027 date currently being mentioned represents the most cautious scenario. Based on the information received, some areas of the complex could reopen as early as October 2026 if the project progresses according to schedule.
The municipality aims to make the most of this exceptional closure by carrying out as many renovations as possible in a single phase, thereby avoiding further service interruptions in the coming years.
Swim.brussels will continue to monitor developments and publish any new information regarding the reopening schedule of the Poseidon swimming pool.
