50-meter swimming pool | Olympic pool in Brussels
A 50-meter swimming pool, also known as an Olympic pool, is designed to meet international competition standards. With its 50-meter length, this type of pool is ideal for amateur or professional swimmers looking to train over long distances.
Currently, Brussels has only two Olympic pools: the Woluwe-Saint-Pierre Sportcity pool and the Molenbeek Louis Namèche pool.
1. Woluwe-Saint-Pierre – Sportcity pool
The Woluwe-Saint-Pierre pool features a modular 50-meter basin, but its full-length usage is subject to specific conditions. Thanks to an innovative movable pontoon system, the basin can be divided into two, creating a 33-meter pool and a learning pool. This system offers great flexibility, but it also means that the 50-meter configuration is only accessible at specific times.
- 50-meter schedule: Available in its 50-meter configuration every day from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and after 6 p.m. in the evening. The schedule is adjusted according to swimmer needs and at the discretion of lifeguards.
- Default configuration: Outside these time slots, the pool remains divided, with a 33-meter section available for swimming.

2. Molenbeek-Saint-Jean – Louis Namèche pool
The Molenbeek pool is another gem in Brussels for those who enjoy swimming laps. Completely renovated in 2016, this pool features a modern and spacious Olympic 50-meter basin, ideal for swimmers seeking high-quality infrastructure.
- Basin configuration: The pool is permanently set to a 50-meter configuration, allowing swimmers to enjoy the maximum length at any time.
